The Secret of Success

I’ve read countless numbers of books on “Success” and all of its descriptions. There are a myriad of opinions on “success” and how one achieves it. Personally, I believe success is defined and measured individually, as each person has a different and unique perspective. What is success? How do you measure your success? Do you consider yourself successful?

For some, money means success. For others, success is being independent, the business owner…the car, the house, the affluence. I think a big part of this identity stems from our society, Hollywood, Wall Street and the generation of entitlement. Does success mean happiness, freedom, peace…? Is there a “secret” to success?

In my 20’s, I worked hard to be my definition of successful: the young, upwardly mobile or “yuppie” was my example. I read the books, listened to the tapes and attended the seminars. In my 30’s, success meant reaching a place of status, having worked hard to earn the position. To be honest, internally I was miserable, unhappy and burned out. On the outside, I looked the part…on the inside, I was falling apart.

Today, I have an entirely different view of success. I still have the ambition, the motivation and yes, even the anxiety, but I have learned something that I consider to be very valuable on the path to “success”. I get up everyday and try to do my best. Most days I focus on putting one foot in front of the other. I have learned that it does me no good to try to put 10 feet in front of the one foot. It doesn’t work.  I have learned that success is not and should not be measured by status in comparison to others.

The secret of success for me is persevering…enduring…putting one foot in front of the other, day by day. In business, in relationships, in everything…one step at a time, day by day. Trials and tribulations come and sometimes the circumstances threaten to take us out. Even if we have to re-direct our steps, revise our goals or even take a break, those decisions are evidence of “success”. Just don’t give up, don’t quit and don’t let anyone or anything have the power to rob you of your dreams and visions.

The Secret of Success? Everyday, you get up and keep going. That’s success! Enjoy your successful day.

What is an Online Entrepreneur: “Internet-preneur”?

I recently spoke at the Ultimate Women’s Expo in Phoenix, AZ on the topic of How to Start Your Own Business with Zero Investment. I was surprised at the response and number of people (men and women) who wanted to know more information about how to start a business…online. My whole presentation/talk involved using the Internet to “make money” or even start a new business. Can it really be done? Can anyone at any time really learn how to make money using the Internet? It seems so foreign to most of us. We’ve been spammed, scammed and scared to death to trust this online exposure. But, should we stop trying or figure out how to make it work. I am a big believer in making it work. I am living proof that it can be done.

I have spent the past few years learning how to be successful as an “online entrepreneur“. Some have coined the phrase…”internetpreneur.” I had to learn the facts and fiction of SEO, Google, keywords, and anything to do with online marketing. I had to try and fail; keep trying until I succeed. What works; what doesn’t work. I have become an avid student of the Internet and its intricacies. I am also believer in cutting to the chase. I hate to waste people’s time and money. I hate the idea of trying to sell some “slick” get rich quick program, of which I have purchased a few over the years. What have I learned through it all? Number one, there is a LOT of money to be made online. We spend on average about 290 million dollars per day. Number two, nothing happens over night or fast. It takes time, hard work, and persistence. Today, it takes a long time for new products to penetrate the marketplace. Number three, you must be willing to LEARN new things, new ways and new tools. The old school is old school. Some of the same principles may apply but the strategies have changed.

In 2009, my business partner Tonilee Adamson and I co-founded this little company called Media 4 Women Enterprises. It’s been a crazy few years. The growth, the potential, the opportunities have been overwhelming. I have over 25 years experience in business. I have an Executive MBA. I have started several new companies. But, everything with Media 4 Women has defied the odds. Growing exponentially in a recession doesn’t make sense. Logically, to me, our success doesn’t make sense either. BUT, I have to acknowledge that the foundation has been based upon the same things I mentioned earlier. Hard work, willingness to learn new ways, ability to change, persistence, risk and patience to keep going, keep moving forward. I also have to acknowledge that at the end of the day, we are “online entrepreneurs”. We work online, all day, every day. We are living proof that becoming an online entrepreneur is a potentially a successful path.

Media 4 Women will be launching a new, innovative Online Entrepreneur Academy in early 2013. This “training” program will be nothing like what is on the market today. It will have one main purpose and goal: to make YOU successful in online business. It is time for us to share what we have learned in a format that can be used by anyone at any level. Our passion at Media 4 Women is to teach and train. We have worked with hundreds of companies and clients over the past few years and we are eager to share the experience with others. Stay tuned for more information coming about the new Online Entrepreneur Academy. There will be something for everyone, if you are willing to learn and are ready for a life change that leads to success.

Women on the Move

Last week, I held a 3 hour seminar called “How to Make Money Online” and everyone who attended or wanted the video was a woman who is ready to move forward. From a hairdresser to a grandmother, the group was making a statement. It is time for women to step forward and take control of their financial futures. Personally, I am jazzed as I see them get excited to learn and to keep the momentum going. You can do it! Just don’t give up trying and keep taking one more step forward. Women are on the move.

I want to help those who are willing to learn and to grow.  I have learned more than I could imagine about the online world of Internet marketing. It truly has changed my perspective on so many things in my life. The more I learn, the more I believe that I can do more. Over 90% of new businesses do not make it the first year. Why? The number one reason is: lack of knowledge. As women, who is going to teach us? We need to a different type of teacher and trainer and we need a lot of reinforcement. But, once we get it…we get going.

If you want to join the mission and be a woman on the move, I invite you to join our membership program which will start your path of knowledge, learning and financial independence. It is the place where I can help you grow and succeed. Check out www.Media4WomenMembership.com for more information. You can order the “How to Make Money Online” Seminar DVD or online here.
